Later on I realized that its a mistake by the thread owner and got pissed off, and finally all I can do is laugh on the entire brohaha. Can't decide if we should give red dots OR green dots to the thread owner

I was dumbfounded when I first found this out. The man must have real conviction and courage and belief in himself and this effort to do such a selfless act and I am not even talking about the hours and hours of time, mental energy, physical stress and emotional capital he must have invested into OUR effort and I am not talking about all that because that is immeasurable and there is not much we can do to repay all that back but there is something we can do.
Please take out your wallet and repay IV core members who have contributed selflessly to OUR cause.
Every one of us has benefited in some way or the other because of our association to IV and who do we have to thank but the core team who have put so much on the line for OUR cause.

Thanks for sharing your experience.. BTW, were you using your AP for the first time? I have heard that while traveling on AP you need to go through secondary screen, which takes time. Is that true?
Yes you have to go to secondary inspection. Time depends on how many other people are referred to secondary inspection. There will be some with AP some with other issues. In my case, there were 7-8 people ahead of us and it took close to 90 minutes.

I think poster bestia mentioned yesterday that you can somehow speed up the process if you pay a certain amount for faster processing? That's another thing I want to look into for my friend. May I ask you how you check the status of that online? I think she sent in the original application but she never got anything back so she doesn't have a case number or anything. Thanks!

Let me try to make a humble suggestion here - why don't you try writing a really short and direct letter, so that even the laziest guy cannot help but read it?

I would like to draw your attention to the bill <blah blah> which is very important from the point of view of people waiting in line to be legal immigrants
I wish that you lend your valuable support to this bill as it will help eliminate the backlogs and delays in issuing green cards to people from retrogressed countries like myself. This is essential to ensure that all people are treated equally irrespective of their country of birth

I am not an expert in law but we cannot "Force" the deparment of state to release numbers. However some numbers are already available for 2005 in usage stats.
If they waste numbers in 2006, then they may be recaptured and used in 2007 - ONLY IF - the comprehensive bill or the PACE act passes as both have recapture provision.
Doesnt the ombudsman report show all numbers even today? I thought they did.

I saw so many RFE recently. I am wondering If there is RFE, the attorney can not represent me. Can i just send RFE by myself to CIS? Or the attorney has to do it.

Recently I filed FOIA for the complete set of documents on my I-485, becaz my employer didnt share any documents with me.
Now I got my I-140 application and Receipt Notice and all the documents submitted for I-485, but there is no I-140 approval notice, is anyone out there filed FOIA just to get the I-140 approval notice? or should I file I-824 to get the I-140 approval notice?

DO they tell you to reschedule the appointment or just ask you to come with FP notice by doing walk-in after it heals. Also do they put a note in their system that you could not give the FP because of so and so reason. Also anyone knows what Boston ASC does , whether they permit walk-ins during the week.
You said you went after a month, so I assume that they must have noted that you did appear for the FP but could not do it.

CITI Bank usually send the 1099. But if you have account with ICICI or some other Indian Banks they do not send it. Also check if your bank in India deducting Tax (Usually called as TDS) on interest you earn. That amount you can deduct on US tax return as foreign taxes paid.

b. hospital records with child and both parents name
c. census records with child and both parents name
d. school records with child and both parents name
e. religious records with child and both parents name for naming ceremony.
I do not have any of them, at the most the school record is 10th grade with only fathers name.
Any ideas?,. Lawyer says its OK, send whatever is available and write an explanation why any of the above can't be obtained.

rajarao - I have this suggestion. My employers did something similar for my LC audit, which is different from I 485. But, the point is to look for an equivalent substitute.
Do you have any sustitutes for the above ? Such as LIC policies with beneficiaries, ration card, voters registration, driver's license anything ? If you do, then call USCIS and explain what you are sending and the significance of these documents and find out if acceptable.
It looks like they are looking for an authentic document showing son's and parent's names.
Gurus, what do you all think ?
